CHICAGO (AP) -- Carlos Gomez couldn't believe his name was in the same sentence as Kirby Puckett's.
Fast Facts
• Minnesota's Carlos Gomez and Houston's Luke Scott are the only players in the divisional era to hit for the reverse cycle -- that is, a home run, triple, double and single in that order. The most recent player to do it prior to that was Jim Fregosi in 1968.
• Gomez batted first and played center field on Wednesday. Of the eight Twins cycles, four have been by the leadoff hitter and three have been by the center fielder.
• The last Twins player to hit for the cycle was center fielder Kirby Puckett, who did so on Aug. 1, 1986 at home against the A's while batting leadoff.
