Only hours after would-be closer John Smoltz announced he'll have season-ending surgery next week, rookie Manny Acosta gave up a pair of two-run homers in the ninth as the Florida Marlins rallied to beat the Braves 6-4 on Wednesday.Fast Facts
• Hanley Ramirez went 2-for-3 with two home runs and three RBIs, his sixth career multi-HR game and second of 2008.
• Manny Acosta gave up four earned runs and now has two blown saves in his last two appearances, the first two blown saves of his career.

The Marlins recalled C Paul Hoover from Triple-A Albuquerque to replace LHP Taylor Tankersley, who was optioned to Albuquerque after Tuesday night's game. ... 2B Dan Uggla was away from the team for the birth of his child in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Uggla is expected back on Thursday, and Alfredo Amezaga was 1-for-4 as the fill-in starter.
