MIAMI (AP) -- Rick VandenHurk went to the minors for three and a half months and came back this week with a slider that was good enough to baffle the Atlanta Braves.

• The Braves were shut out for the 10th time this season, matching their total from all of 2007.
• Florida starter Rick VandenHurk tossed five scoreless innings for his first win since Aug. 23.
