NEW YORK (AP) -- Aaron Heilman put to rest the ruckus being made over the Mets' beleaguered bullpen -- for at least a night.
Using a revamped motion, Heilman struck out three in two innings to close out Oliver Perez's dominant performance and give New York a 3-0 victory over their division-rival Florida Marlins on Friday night.Fast Facts
• David Wright and Carlos Delgado each went deep, and Oliver Perez combined with Aaron Heilman on a two-hitter as the Mets take the first of a crucial three-game series with the Marlins.
• Perez improved to 3-0 vs. the Marlins this season and 7-0 in 13 starts against teams with winning records.
• Wright went deep in the first inning a night after hitting a walk-off homer, becoming the second Met player since Carlos Beltran in 2006 to turn the trick.
