ATLANTA -- Javier Vazquez is accustomed to pitching with very little run support from his Atlanta teammates. At least this time, enough went right for Vazquez to win for the first time in six starts as he and three Braves relievers combined to shut out the Chicago Cubs 2-0 on Monday night."You're not going to get the win every time out, but I'll take it," he said. "I like that I threw a good game and got the win."
• The Braves got a rare win with little offense, improving to 4-29 in games in which they scored fewer than four runs.
• Javier Vazquez got his first win in his last six starts despite striking out just five, his lowest strikeout total in any start this season. He leads the NL with 117 K's.
• The last time the Cubs were shut out with double-digit hits in a nine-inning game was Aug. 29, 1990, at Houston.
