Kuroda surrenders four hits in 8 2/3 innings as Dodgers beat ChiSox
CHICAGO -- On the night Manny Ramirez started playing ball again, the Los Angeles Dodgers showed why they haven't missed him very much.
"We play the same way every day," catcher Russell Martin said after Tuesday's 5-2 victory over the Chicago White Sox. "Our pitching has been great. You can't really get better than what we're doing right now."James Loney, whose two-run homer backed Hiroki Kuroda's outstanding pitching, disagreed.Fast Facts
• The Dodgers won their third straight and seventh of nine overall.
• James Loney hit his fifth home run of the season, with three of them coming in his last four games.
• Hiroki Kuroda snapped a four-start winless skid, going a season-high 8 2/3 innings. He earned his first win since Opening Day.

Game notes

They suffered a three-game sweep in 2005 -- the teams' only other meeting here after L.A. beat the White Sox in the 1959 World Series. ... The Dodgers are 23 games over .500 for the first time since they ended the 2004 season 24 games over. ... Thome, the Chicago DH who was limited to pinch-hitting duties in the previous eight games at NL parks, went 0-for-4 in his return to the lineup.
