W: A. Burnett (6-4)
L: T. Redding (1-3)
NEW YORK -- This is what the Yankees envisioned when they spent $243.5 million on CC Sabathia and A.J. Burnett.
One day after Sabathia and the bullpen combined on a three-hitter, Burnett and two relievers authored a suffocating one-hitter against the punchless Mets, a 5-0 victory Saturday night in a runaway Subway Series. Why A.J. Burnett Won:
• Dominant curveball: 48% chase percentage, 63% miss percentage, 19% in-play percentage.
• Finished the job: 21 of 26 pitches were strikes with two strikes in the count (season-high 10 strikeouts).
• No fly zone: Season-low five flyball outs in seven innings of work

Game notes
Eleven of Swisher's 14 homers have come on the road. ... The Yankees' previous one-hitter also was against the Mets, by Mike Mussina, Ron Villone, Scott Proctor, Kyle Farnsworth and Mariano Rivera on June 30, 2006. ... Manuel watched Reyes (leg) go through increased agility drills before the game. There's still no specific timetable for Reyes' return, but he's not expected back until after the All-Star break. "He looked OK. I think he's making some progress. But I still think they're being very, very cautious with him and his approach," Manuel said. "If I get him back soon, it's like a bonus for us."
