Ichiro saves game with catch of Martinez's fly ball to boost Mariners
CLEVELAND -- Ichiro Suzuki can hit, run, throw -- and play a pretty good game of fetch, too.
Suzuki had three hits, scored twice and made a game-saving catch to help the Mariners beat the Cleveland Indians for the third straight game, 5-3 Sunday."The only thing that was in my mind as soon as the bat made contact was to catch it," Suzuki said of his game-ending catch. "Just like a dog chasing after a Frisbee."Fast Facts
• The Mariners won for the sixth time in eight games thanks to a go-ahead sacrifice fly ball from Jack Hannahan in the eighth inning. It was Hannahan's third career go-ahead RBI in the eighth inning or later; the first two were walk-off hits in extra innings.
• Erik Bedard (4 2/3 IP, 2 ER) failed to make it out of the fifth inning, but allowed 2 ER or fewer for the ninth straight start (longest active streak in the AL).
• The Mariners' pictchers have a 1.87 ERA over the last six games.
• The Indians have lost three straight and eight of 11.
