PHOENIX -- A member of the World Series champion Chicago White Sox in 2005, Juan Uribe is doing his best to get the San Francisco Giants into the postseason this year.
Uribe hit a two-run homer and had an RBI double in a 5-2 victory over Arizona on Wednesday night that let the Giants gain a game on NL wild card leader Colorado. The Giants remain tied with Atlanta, four games behind the Rockies with 10 games remaining.Fast Facts

San Francisco 2B Freddy Sanchez will need surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee, Giants manager Bruce Bochy said. He added that the Giants will attempt to delay the surgery while they are in the playoff race. Sanchez was injured when he landed awkwardly while fielding a return throw from the outfield in the first inning of a 5-4 victory over Arizona on Monday. ... Arizona 3B Mark Reynolds is 4 for 19 with 12 strikeouts in his career against Sanchez after getting a single and striking out twice Wednesday.
