How Dodgers starter Clayton Kershaw continued his dominance of the Giants:
- Kershaw got the Giants to hit the ball on the ground. His 66.7 groundball percentage (12 groundballs, six fly balls) ties the highest mark of his career. All 12 groundballs Kershaw induced were with his fastball.
- Kershaw's high groundball percentage was a result of his keeping the ball down in the zone. Sixty of Kershaw's 117 pitches (51.3 pct) were down in the zone or below, well above his career average of 40.1 percent. The Giants were 1-for-13 with five strikeouts in at-bats ending in low pitches. Twenty-six of Kershaw's twenty-seven offspeed pitches were low. | |||||||||||||||||||||
