Marlins-Braves rained out

ATLANTA (AP) -- The Atlanta Braves-Florida Marlins game was rained out Saturday night.

No makeup date was immediately scheduled. The Marlins return to Atlanta two more times this season, with a three-game series in June and another in September.

Kyle Davies was scheduled to pitch for the Braves against Florida's Scott Olsen. The teams play the finale of their weekend series on Sunday.

The Braves managed to get in batting practice and infield drills before a thick line of storms moved in about two hours before the game. The Marlins never got on the field.

At first, the Braves thought there would be enough of a break in the storms to get in the game during the evening. The field was briefly uncovered, but the rain picked up again and it became apparent that it wouldn't let up anytime soon.

The game was finally called about 2 1/2 hours after its scheduled start.
