Olney: Angels could sure use Hamilton

"Josh Hamilton clubbed two homers for the Rangers in his fifth game back in the big leagues, mostly on the Angels' dime, and what must really gnaw on his old team -- his old team in Anaheim, that is -- is that they could really use a hitter like him right now, for the middle of their lineup." Hamilton's better in Texas

Josh Hamilton has been much better throughout his career as a Ranger than an Angel. His batting average is 50 points higher with the Rangers, and he has homered every 17.7 AB with the Rangers compared to every 29.5 AB with the Angels.

From strikeouts to grand slams

Derek Norris struck out 4 times in the first 8 innings Friday vs. the Pirates. But his at-bat with two out in the 9th and the bases loaded in a tie game went differently: He hit a walk-off grand slam, the first in MLB this season. Norris is only the 8th player in the live-ball era to have 4 K's and a grand slam in the same game, but the first to have the slam be a walk-off.

Sacrifice is necessary for a Web Gem
