Josh Hamilton 'not completely done'

ESPN's Jerry Crasnick on SportsCenter: "The fact that [the Angels] would give him away and wind up paying most of his salary, really goes to show how frayed that relationship was at the end of his tenure there."

Angels-Hamilton -- An 'odd' relationship

ESPN's Jayson Stark on SportsCenter: "It's odd and it's uncomfortable. ... It's been odd from Day 1. The most important thing here is to step back from baseball and say let's hope that this is an opportunity for Josh Hamilton to rebuild his life."

Angels, Hamilton get their wish

Josh Hamilton wanted out of Los Angeles and the Angels wanted him gone. Said Angels GM Jerry Dipoto: "Over the course of the last few weeks, it became clear that Josh wanted to return to Texas. After several discussions with the Rangers, we were able to complete a trade that in the end is the right decision for everyone involved."

Low risk for Texas in Hamilton trade

The Rangers did not give up any prospects or other players in the Josh Hamilton trade. Texas will pay less than $7M of the $80M left on the 3 years remaining on Hamilton's contract. Hamilton, however, will forfeit $6M to offset the move to Texas, where there is no state income tax.

Hamilton back with Texas

Josh Hamilton is returning to the Rangers. The Angels officially announced the long-speculated trade that will send the OF to Texas for a player to be named later or cash considerations.

Should the NL add the DH?

Yes, said ESPN's Tim Kurkjian on SportsCenter: "It's time for the DH to go into the National League, and not because two pitchers got hurt. It's ridiculous that we have a different set of of rules for each league."
