With his 470-foot homer in Arizona's 6-4 win over the A's, Paul Goldschmidt has hit the two longest homers by a Diamondback this season in the past four days.


Kershaw matches season high in K's

Clayton Kershaw had 14 strikeouts in Friday's win. It was his 11th game this season with at least 10 K's, tied for third-most by a Dodgers pitcher since 1900, according to Elias. Only Sandy Koufax (21 in 1965, 15 in 1966) had more.

Swihart's inside-the-park HR

Blake Swihart produced an inside-the-park homer against Carlos Torres in the 10th inning, sparking a 3-run inning that powered the Red Sox to a win over the Mets.


Rookie sends Giants to walk-off win

Kelby Tomlinson lined a bases-loaded single up the middle to down the Cardinals 5-4.. Marlon Byrd cleared the bases in the 3rd inning, giving the Giants a franchise record eight grand slams for the season (via Elias).


The "inside-the-park" HR that wasn't?

Juan Lagares didn't chase after Blake Swihart's inside-the-park home run very hard, and Yoenis Cespedes never moved from his spot in left field to back up Lagares. Why? Lagares explained: "It hit over the [home run] line. That's why the ball came back that hard."

David Ortiz smacked his 27th HR of the year and Blake Swihart hit an inside-the-park home run to spark a 3-run 10th that pushed Boston to a 6-4 win.
