I don't care what happens today...I'm taking BP at 2 in Camden no matter what...don't care what anyone says

If the Blue Jays actually get David Price then Alex Anthopoulus will edge out Dayton Moore for best acquisitions by a contender at deadline

Kurkjian: David Price will be traded

ESPN's Tim Kurkjian on SportsCenter: "I would be shocked if he isn't moved before 4 p.m. ET tomorrow. Right now, it seems like it could be Toronto. ... [The Blue Jays] have not been to the playoffs since 1993. They got people excited last year and again this year." But Kurkjian said that the Astros, Dodgers and Yankees all remain in the hunt.

The deal that was, then wasn't

Around 9 p.m. ET on Wednesday, Mets SS Wilmer Flores and RHP Zack Wheeler were reportedly on their way to Milwaukee in exchange for OF Carlos Gomez. But by 11 p.m. ET, Mets GM Sandy Alderson said the trade "has not and will not transpire." Wait, what?

Did Cards panic over Matt Holliday?

Despite Holliday's injury, ESPN's Keith Law questions the Brandon Moss trade: "I can't get over the Cards giving up [Rob] Kaminsky, a former first-round pick who has performed very well throughout his pro career." 'Utterly baffling' (Insider)

The details of the Hamels' trade underscores: PHI had far less leverage than expected, and were greatly boxed in by his no-trade provision.

Adam Rubin @AdamRubinESPN

Hard to tell where truth lies, but if that source has ties to Brewers or Gomez & agent, there's serious incentive to minimize any hip issue.

Adam Rubin @AdamRubinESPN

Not saying it's inaccurate, but it's easy to construct a believable narrative that Mets' finances played role.

Andrew Marchand @AndrewMarchand

It is in best interest of Brewers/Boras for it to be about $ than hips, but there are specific details that make you believe $ was a factor

Terry Collins: I didn't know about trade

Said the Mets manager: "Somebody came to me and said Wilmer's crying. I said, 'Why?' 'Well he got traded.' 'To who? For what?' ... There was nothing I knew about it."

Buster Olney @Buster_ESPN

As NYM pick up the pieces after the Gomez proposal, focus remains on players who can help them in 2016 as well as 2015, given asking prices.

Kurkjian: Awkward situation all around

Tim Kurkjian to SportsCenter: "As awkward and bizarre as this was, you cannot fault the Mets for this. ... What do you do with Wilmer Flores? You had him traded last night, now he's still on your team. ... It's really, really tricky."

Jayson Stark @jaysonst

Exec whose team has been talking to the #Padres: “It wouldn’t surprise me to see them make four deals in 24 hours.” Is that all?
