Mets' Matz a hero -- sandwich, that is

New York's Steven Matz -- who allowed two runs in 7 2/3 IP and went 3-for-3 with 4 RBIs in his MLB debut Sunday -- visited the hometown deli that named a sandwich after him with teammate Jacob deGrom on Monday. Matz didn't order his personal sub but called it "cool" to have his own hero. (via Newsday)

Matt Moore returning Thursday

The Rays LHP, who has missed the past 14 months after Tommy John surgery, said he's "definitely ready" to return to the rotation. Moore had no setbacks in his rehab. "Hats off to them," he said of the training staff.
