They head the roster of first-year players announced Tuesday for the Rookie Challenge during the Feb. 13-15 NBA All-Star weekend in Los Angeles.
That team will face the league's top second-year players, including 2002-03 Rookie of the Year Amare Stoudemire and 2002 No. 1 overall draft pick Yao Ming. First- and second-year players picked for the All-Star game usually are not required to play in the Rookie Challenge.
Yao edged Shaquille O'Neal by just over 30,000 votes in balloting for the starting center spot on the Western Conference All-Star team.
All-Star starters were announced Jan. 29. Reserves will be announced on Feb. 3.
