Okafor still hobbled by sprained ankle

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Charlotte Bobcats forward Emeka Okafor
will miss the Rookie Challenge on Friday night at NBA All-Star
weekend because of a sprained left ankle.

Boston's Al Jefferson will replace the No. 2 overall pick in
June's draft.

Okafor was hurt Jan. 30 against the Los Angeles Lakers and spent the following five games on the injured list. He re-injured the
ankle Friday against Miami and has missed the Bobcats' three games
since then.

"I'm disappointed that I will be unable to play during the NBA
All-Star weekend, but I want to do what's right for myself and the
Charlotte Bobcats," Okafor said in a statement.

Okafor is averaging 14.8 points and 11 rebounds and is a leading
contender for rookie of the year honors. He has 27 double-doubles
in 42 games.

Jefferson is averaging 6.9 points and 4.7 rebounds for the
Celtics.
