Blake Griffin plans to give the trophy he won in the slam dunk contest to the family of his high school teammate, who died Wednesday, writes ESPN Los Angeles' Ramona Shelburne.
Blake Griffin is just the third player in the history of the NBA slam dunk contest to win in front of his home fans. The last to do it was Isaiah Rider in 1994. Michael Jordan won in Chicago in 1988.
