HORNETS LOSE DESPITE HEROIC EFFORTS FROM PAUL AND WEST

Chris Paul registered a triple-double and David West recorded 44 points and 12 rebounds, but that was not enough to lead the Hornets to a victory as the team dropped a 108-100 decision to the Rockets in Houston on Tuesday night. That marked only the third time over the last 35 seasons that a player had a triple-double in the same game in which a teammate posted 40-or-more points and 10-or-more rebounds in a losing effort. On December 16, 1988, Portland's Terry Porter had a triple-double and Clyde Drexler had 42 points and 11 rebounds in a loss to the Suns; and on April 15, 1994, Orlando's Penny Hardaway registered a triple-double and Shaquille O'Neal had 42 points and 11 rebounds in a loss to the Celtics.
