Back, ankle injuries caused by flagrant foul

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Knicks forward Tim Thomas was ruled out of Tuesday night's Game 2 against the New Jersey Nets with back and ankle injuries.

Thomas was hurt in New York's Game 1 loss Saturday when he fell hard to the court on a flagrant foul by Nets center Jason Collins.

Thomas had a bruised lower back and a bone bruise on his left ankle. He skipped the Knicks' shootaround Tuesday morning.
