Iman Shumpert staying in draft
ATLANTA -- Georgia Tech's Iman Shumpert says he is remaining in the NBA draft.
Shumpert, who earlier announced plans to explore his options for the draft, said Tuesday he is bypassing his senior season and will hire an agent as he pursues his professional career.
The 6-foot-5 Shumpert became only the fourth player in Atlantic Coast Conference history to lead his team in scoring, rebounds, assists and steals. He averaged 17.3 points, 5.9 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.7 steals.
Shumpert got the fourth triple-double in school history with 22 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists against Virginia Tech on Jan. 25.
He indicated last month he would enter the draft if he was confident he would be picked in the first round or early in the second round.
