Stevenson to back up Mobley

ORLANDO, Fla. -- The Orlando Magic re-signed guard DeShawn Stevenson on Thursday.

Stevenson played in 80 games last season for Utah and Orlando,
averaging career highs of 11.4 points, 3.7 rebounds and two
assists. He was acquired by the Magic, along with a future
second-round pick, in a deadline-day trade for Gordan Giricek.

In 26 games with Orlando, Stevenson averaged 11.2 points, 4.6
rebounds and 2.5 assists.

Although Stevenson started 24 games for the Magic, he will back
up Cuttino Mobley. Orlando acquired Mobley in a seven-player trade
that sent two-time scoring champion Tracy McGrady to Houston.

The 6-foot-5, 210-pound Stevenson was selected 23rd overall in the 2000 NBA draft.
