NBA star written up for 65 tickets since 2001
PHILADELPHIA -- NBA superstar Allen Iverson owes more than $1,700 in parking fines, according to the Philadelphia Parking Authority.
Since March 2001, Iverson has received at least 65 parking tickets totaling $4,500 on his cars, the Philadelphia Daily News reported in Thursday's editions. Records show he has already paid $2,800.
City officials said the $1,700 stems from four $300 tickets plus fines that the 76ers point guard received when he left his Rolls Royce in a handicapped spot at an airport parking garage for a week in late May. Officials also said the city moved the Rolls to a different spot, but cannot legally tow a vehicle from the airport garage.
Iverson is in Athens to play in the Olympics. His attorney, Larry Woodward, declined to comment.
