Glover gives Spurs even more experience
San Antonio Spurs: With an open spot on their roster, the
San Antonio Spurs added another veteran to their bench.
On Thursday, the Spurs signed guard Dion Glover, a five-year NBA veteran, to a 10-day contract.
San Antonio, which owns the best record in the NBA at 49-15, has five players on the bench with five or more years of experience, including five-time NBA champion Robert Horry.
Glover, 26, a former first-round pick of Atlanta in 1999, has averaged 8.3 points and 3.1 rebounds in 287 career games with the Hawks and Toronto Raptors. He started the 2004-05 season in the Turkish Basketball League.
In a corresponding move, San Antonio placed guard Mike Wilks on the injured list with left knee patella tendinitis. Wilks averaged 1.4 points and 0.5 rebounds in 36 games.
