Claxton has strained groin

New Orleans Hornets: The club put guard Speedy Claxton on the injured list because of a strained right
groin and activated forward-center Marciej Lampe.

Jamaal Magloire, who has back spasms, and Chris Andersen, who has a sprained right ankle, both were out of Friday night's game with Utah.

Claxton, who missed Wednesday's game against Denver, has averaged 6.8 points, 5.5 assists and 1.38 steals in 16 games with the Hornets this season.

Lampe has missed seven games since lower back spasms put him on the injured list March 25. He averaged 2.2 points and 1.5 rebounds
in 13 earlier games this season.

Cleaves before Friday night's game against the Los Angeles Lakers,
clearing roster space by moving rookie center Robert Swift to the
injured list with right knee tendinits.
Coach Nate McMillan only had nine players available because of
Forward Danny Fortson, nursing a sprained left shoulder, was
listed as doubtful, along with guard Antonio Daniels (left knee
swelling). Forwards Rashard Lewis (bruised right foot) and Vladimir
Radmanovic (stress fracture, right leg) are out.

Rodman to play in Puerto Rico
Dennis Rodman says he will play in an exhibition game Saturday with the Isabela Roosters of the Puerto Rican basketball league. He will be on the court for 20-25 minutes in the game against the Arecibo Captains.

"I will play Saturday night, for one time only," Rodman said in Friday's El Vocero newspaper. "I'm in good shape, and you will
see that on Saturday."

League president Henry Neumann said Rodman will earn $50,000.

Rodman, a seven-time NBA rebounding champion, won five championships in Detroit and Chicago, but hasn't played in the NBA
since 2000.
