Bennett is a highly touted tight end
HOUSTON -- A top Texas A&M football recruit said Tuesday he has entered his name in the upcoming NBA draft.
Martellus Bennett, generally considered among the nation's top tight ends, graduates from Alief Taylor High School later this month.
The 6-foot-7, 243 pound Bennett told Houston television station KRIV that if he isn't going to be picked in the first round of the NBA draft, he will play football and basketball for A&M. He has until June 21 to withdraw his name from the draft pool.
"I'm trying to test the waters to see how I am doing," said Bennett, who does not have an agent. "If I don't go where I think I should be, I can go back to school."
