DALLAS -- Dallas Mavericks assistant coach Del Harris was ejected with 6:43 left in the first quarter of Saturday night's game against the Detroit Pistons for arguing with officials.

Harris came onto the court to protest a foul call by referee Michael Smith against Dallas' Marquis Daniels.

Smith ruled that Detroit's Chauncey Billups was shooting on the play and Billups was awarded two free throws. Harris and Mavericks head coach Avery Johnson contended that it was a non-shooting foul.

Johnson was also assessed a technical foul on the play, and Billups converted four free throws.
