Warriors lose Pietrus up to four weeks with sprain

OAKLAND, Calif. -- Golden State Warriors swingman Mickael Pietrus is expected to miss up to four weeks with a sprained ligament in his right knee.

Pietrus was injured late in the first half of a 100-97 victory over the New Jersey Nets on Monday night and left the arena on crutches, saying he expected to be sidelined 2-to-6 weeks.

He was examined Tuesday by team orthopedist John Belzer and underwent an MRI exam that revealed a sprain of the medial collateral ligament in his knee. He has begun the rehabilitation process.

Pietrus is averaging 10.5 points and 2.8 rebounds playing just more than 22 minutes per game.
