ORLANDO, Fla. -- Steve Francis missed Orlando's game Wednesday night against the Washington Wizards because of bruised ribs.

The Magic went on to defeat the Wizards 91-83.

Francis, the Magic's leading scorer with 20 points per game, said he was injured in a single-car crash just after Saturday's 98-95 home loss to New Orleans.

Francis originally said he bruised his chest during the game. A precautionary MRI exam Tuesday came back negative.

It was his first missed game of the season. Francis missed four games last season, three because of a suspension.
