Cavs ink first-round pick Brown; Gibson signs, too
CLEVELAND -- The Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday signed guard Shannon Brown, the 25th pick in last week's draft.
Terms were not disclosed, but under the rookie salary scale, Brown will receive $1.68 million for two years. The Cavaliers hold options for the third and fourth years.
The 6-4 Brown, 20, averaged 17.2 points and 4.4 rebounds as a junior for Michigan State this past season, earning All-Big Ten Second Team and Big Ten All-Defensive Team honors.
The Cavaliers also signed guard Daniel Gibson, whom they selected 42nd overall. The 6-2 Gibson, 21, averaged 13.4 points, 3.6 rebounds and 3.1 assists as a sophomore with Texas last season.
