9/5/2006 - NBA Houston Rockets

HOUSTON -- The Houston Rockets signed free agent Casey Jacobsen on Tuesday, adding another perimeter shooter to the roster.

The 6-foot-6 Jacobsen played last season for Tau Ceramica in the
Euroleague. He was originally drafted by the Phoenix Suns in the
first round in 2002.

The former Stanford star averaged 16.4 points, 4.2 rebounds and
1.8 assists in five games with the Denver Nuggets' summer league
squad. Jacobsen is Stanford's third all-time scorer and ranks
second in 3-pointers (222).

Jacobsen said he looked forward to playing for Rockets coach
Jeff Van Gundy.

"Jeff Van Gundy has a reputation of outworking others and it's
going to be great playing with him," he told KRIV.

The Rockets also signed 6-11 Matt Haryasz to a free agent
contract. Haryasz played on the Rockets' summer league team,
averaging 7.8 points, five rebounds and 1.3 blocks in four games.
