Pacers PG Greene will begin season on inactive list
Pacers point guard Orien Greene will start the season on the inactive list because of a broken little finger on his left hand, the Indianapolis Star reported.
Greene, a second-round draft pick of the Celtics in 2005, was injured in the first preseason game against New Jersey on Oct. 11. Pins will be removed in a few weeks -- the finger was broken in three places -- when Greene is expected to resume contact drills.
"I'm about halfway through [the healing process]," he told the newspaper.
Greene, who was picked up on waivers in the offseason, is expected to survive Indiana's final roster cuts because he is considered their best defensive point guard.
