Raptors rookie Bargnani sidelined with sore back
CHICAGO -- Rookie forward Andrea Bargnani was inactive for Toronto's game at Chicago on Friday night because of a sore back that has been bothering him the past few days.
The top pick in the draft, Bargnani is averaging 8.2 points and 2.7 rebounds. Coach Sam Mitchell said the back started bothering him before Wednesday's 95-91 loss at Cleveland -- a game in which Bargnani scored 14. The Raptors' next game is Sunday at home against Portland.
"He played well, and he had it worked on [Thursday]," Mitchell said. "He has continued to work on it. Hopefully, we'll bring him back Sunday."
