Injured knee forces Krstic to leave game vs. Lakers

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Center Nenad Krstic had to leave the New Jersey Nets' game against the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday night after apparently hurting his left knee in the third quarter.

There was no immediate word on the extent of the injury, but Krstic could not put any weight on his leg and he had to be helped off the court by teammates.
Krstic, who was averaging 16.9 points and 6.9 rebounds, caught a pass from Richard Jefferson in the lane and started to back his man down in the lane. His right knee gave out and he fell to the court.
Now in his third season, Krstic averaged 23.7 points over the last three games.
