The Spurs said Parker will begin rehabilitation after Friday's exam and will rejoin the French national team when he gets medical clearance.
Parker pulled out of next week's Basketball without Borders event in Europe.
Parker, who married actress Eva Longoria in July, was named NBA finals MVP after the Spurs swept the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Last August Parker broke his right index finger while playing for France in preparation for the world championships.
