Donaghy's wife fed up with media on family's doorstep
BRADENTON, Fla. -- Fed up with the media camped on her doorstep, Kimberly Donaghy, the wife of embattled ex-NBA referee Tim Donaghy, let them know in no uncertain terms they were wasting their time, according to a report in the New York Daily News.
"We have no comment. Period," Kimberly Donaghy said in a note to the media, the Daily News reported. "Please do not knock on our door, ring the bell or wave at us as if we intend to give you the comment that may improve your chances of 'moving up on the food chain.'"
And according to the Daily News, the couple and their four children may have left the premises.
"He is in a safe place with friends and family," family friend Mike Wolf said as he let himself into the house, according to the newspaper.
Donaghy resigned his position July 9 after it became public that he is the target of a federal investigation into whether he bet on NBA games, including those he officiated. No one has been charged in the case.
