WASHINGTON -- Memphis Grizzlies guard Damon Stoudamire was in uniform for a game against the Washington Wizards on Friday night, but he wasn't expected to play. Stoudamire hasn't played since Dec. 30 -- 12 straight games -- and continues to await the buyout of his contract.

As he sat on the bench about 90 minutes before the game, he said there wasn't much to report.

"Not as of this hour. I haven't heard anything. It's still the same," Stoudamire said.

Stoudamire is owed $4.6 million for next season -- a figure that would be cut in half if he plays in fewer than 55 games or averages less than 20 minutes a game this season. In the 29 games he's played this season, the 13-year veteran is averaging 7.3 points per game -- about half his career average and 3.9 assists. This season, he's making $4.3 million.

"I want it done as soon as possible," Stoudamire said. "But, you've got to be patient. You've got to wait."

Stoudamire hasn't commented on where he'd like to play next.

"If I'm able to get the buyout, I'll figure all that out. It's kind of premature to talk about destinations," Stoudamire said.
