Hornets' All-Star West rests sore ankle against Hawks
West rolled his ankle during the second half of the Hornets' victory over the New York Knicks on Monday night. He remained in the game after the injury, but sat out practice on Tuesday and the game-day shootaround Wednesday morning.
The move meant the Hornets would be without one of their primary scorers and rebounders. West averages 19.7 points and nine rebounds per game.
Ryan Bowen replaced West in the starting lineup.
Bowen has played about 13 minutes a game this season, averaging 2.1 points and 2.1 rebounds coming in.
