Vujacic to be out 10 more days with fractured left ankle
Lakers guard Sasha Vujacic's left ankle is a bit more banged up than he thought.
After coming up gimpy with what was believed to be a sprained left ankle on the first day of training camp, Vujacic confirmed through a second medical examination Monday that he has a fractured ankle, according to the Los Angeles Times.
Vujacic had an MRI last week on the ankle, which revealed that he had fractured the ankle earlier and aggravated it during the opening practice session.
Vujacic, who signed a three-year, $15 million contract this summer, will be sidelined for at least another 10 days, according to the Times. The fifth-year guard said his goal is to be back playing within a week, when he will have his ankle re-evaluated.
"I realize that it is what it is. You've got to play it smart. And, it's going to be OK," Vujacic said, according to the Times. "Right now, it's just a little bit frustrating."
