Officially, San Antonio Spurs guard Manu Ginobili is out until December. But for the first time this season, Ginobili is traveling with the team and signs may point to an earlier return.

Ginobili was with the team in Milwaukee on Wednesday night when the Spurs fell to the Bucks. Ginobili was in street clothes walking without a limp before the game and said he's feeling better.

"I'm getting better every day," Ginobili said, according to the San Antonio Express-News. "But I still haven't practiced with the team or anything like that."

Ginobili, who had surgery on his left ankle in early September, can now plant and make cuts on it, according to the Express-News.

He will still need to take part in one-on-one and two-on-two drills as well as work on conditioning before he can get into a game.

Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said he didn't want to put himself into a corner when asked if Ginobili might return before the end of November.

"When he's ready, he'll play. That's the best way to put it," Popovich said, according to the Express-News.

The Spurs are struggling with Ginobili and Tony Parker on the sidelines, and at 2-5 are tied for last place in the Southwest Division. Parker is out for about a month with a sprained left ankle.

Ginobili, however, said he wasn't going to rush back because of Parker's injury.

"I want to be smart," Ginobili said, according to the Express-News. "I don't want to rush it and make it worse."
