EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- The New Jersey Nets have waived veteran forward/center Stromile Swift, who did not dress for their game Sunday night against New Orleans.

Swift, who was acquired from Memphis in a February 2008 trade for center Jason Collins and cash considerations, appeared in six games for the Nets this season. He averaged 3.8 points and 2.2 rebounds while playing 10.7 minutes per game.

The ninth-year veteran has averaged 8.5 points and 4.7 rebounds in 534 career games.
