CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The Houston Rockets have called up Joey Dorsey from Rio Grande Valley of the NBA Development League to add depth to their front line.
The 6-foot-8 Dorsey was assigned to the Vipers on Nov. 13 and averaged 14.9 points and 13.3 rebounds while shooting 65 percent from the field in 16 games. He's expected to be in Houston for Wednesday's game against Minnesota.
Coach Rick Adelman said before Tuesday's game at Charlotte that he wants to watch Dorsey practice and see if he's improved. Adelman said he was unsure how much game action he'll see.
Dorsey was a second-round pick out of Memphis in 2008.
