DENVER -- Nuggets forward Kenyon Martin was ruled out of Friday's victory over the Detroit Pistons because of a left knee contusion.

Martin banged the knee against another player during Thursday night's game at Golden State, leaving during the second quarter and not returning. He missed two games earlier this month with left knee patella tendinitis. His status remains day to day.

Martin has had 23 double-doubles this season and is averaging 12.1 points and 9.5 rebounds.
