Dorsey joins Raptors for rest of year
TORONTO -- Free agent forward Joey Dorsey has signed a contract with the Toronto Raptors through the remainder of the season.
Taken with the 33rd pick in the 2008 draft by the Portland Trail Blazers, Dorsey was traded to the Houston Rockets for the draft rights to the 25th pick, Nicolas Batum. Dorsey was then dealt to the Sacramento Kings on Feb. 18 in a three-team deal that sent Tracy McGrady to the Knicks.
The Kings waived Dorsey last week.
The former University of Memphis star has averaged 1.3 points, 2.4 rebounds and 6.3 minutes in 18 games with Houston and Sacramento. As a member of the Kings, the 6-foot-8 forward grabbed a career-high 12 rebounds Feb. 5 at Memphis.
He has also spent parts of two seasons with Houston's D-League affiliate.
