Warriors add Wright for $11.5M

Dorell Wright was a casualty of the Miami Heat's big free-agent signings, but Wright has already found a new team.

The swingman who spent his first six seasons in Miami and grew close in that time with Dwyane Wade agreed in principle to a three-year deal Saturday with the Golden State Warriors, returning to his native California.

Wright's agent, Bob Myers, told ESPN The Magazine's Ric Bucher that Wright's deal was for $11.5 million.

The financial commitment it has made to Wright, after last week's pricy sign-and-trade acquisition of David Lee from New York, makes it unlikely that Golden State will match an offer sheet New Jersey has committed to Warriors restricted free agent Anthony Morrow.

The Warriors will have seven days to match the Nets' offer once Morrow signs the offer sheet, but have a stronger interest in adding Wright -- to address the lack of pure small forwards -- than keeping Morrow in spite of his perimeter prowess as a shooting guard.
