Andris Biedrins to skip road trip

OAKLAND, Calif. -- Golden State Warriors starting center Andris Biedrins is not traveling with the team on its four-game road trip while he recovers from a severely sprained left ankle.

The Warriors said Thursday night that an MRI on Biedrins' ankle confirmed the extent of the injury. He will be re-evaluated when Golden State returns from its road trip late next week.

Biedrins injured his ankle in the third quarter of Wednesday's 112-106 loss to Dallas. The Latvian big man said afterward he did not know exactly when he sprained his ankle.

The Warriors play at Phoenix on Friday night. They also travel to Dallas, San Antonio and Houston on the trip.
