ORLANDO -- The Magic opened the 2010 AirTran Airways Pro Summer League with an 86-77 loss to the Indiana Pacers at the RDV Sportsplex on Monday afternoon.
Patrick Ewing Jr. led the Magic with 15 points, including nine in the second half, and Jeff Adrien recorded the game's only double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds.
The Magic faced an uphill climb against Indiana after falling behind by 18 points in the first half. Orlando rallied to cut Indiana's lead to just six points in the fourth quarter before ultimately being unable to close the gap.
The Magic's bench outscored Indiana's 35-24, including 13 points from Adrien and 10 from Joe Crawford.
Indiana's Lance Stephenson, the 40th pick in last month's NBA Draft, led all players with 21 points.
Orlando's top pick in the draft, Daniel Orton, scored three points and collected three rebounds before exiting the game early after a scuffle with the Pacers' Josh McRoberts early in the third quarter. Stanley Robinson, the Magic's second-round pick, finished with four points and seven rebounds.
