Favors' double-double paces Nets
ORLANDO -- The New Jersey Nets were patiently waiting for a monster performance from their highly-touted No. 3 draft pick.
And on the final day of the 2010 AirTran Airways Pro Summer League, they got it.
Derrick Favors delivered a tremendous effort and finished with 23 points and 11 rebounds as the Nets (3-2) rolled past the Boston Celtics (1-4), 86-68, on Friday.
Favors, who will turn 19 next week, shot 10-of-17 from the field. The 6-10, 246-pound power forward played just one year at Georgia Tech.
New Jersey shot a blistering 49 percent from the field and out-rebounded Boston by 18.
Brandon Heath contributed 16 points, while Jakim Donaldson scored 15. Terrence Williams played just five minutes, while Damion James sat out.
Luke Harangody led the Celtics with 18 points and Rodney Green chipped in with 12.
