Daye leads Pistons past Lakers

The Lakers had the game all but locked up leading by as many as nine (84-75) late in the fourth before the Pistons went on a 13-0 run to finish the game.
D.J. Strawberry tallied six points in the first quarter and Devin Ebanks tallied five as they built a 25-19 lead heading into the second quarter. The Pistons were led by Jonas Jerebko also with six points while Austin Daye chipped in five.
Derrick Caracter stepped up for the Lakers in the second period scoring nine of his 11 first half points to lead the Lakers to a 10-point lead at the half. The Lakers led by as many as nine in the first half as the Pistons struggled offensively shooting just 12-29 from the field.
The Lakers built their lead to as many as 13 early in the second half and were up 65-58 at the end of the third quarter.
Mike Abdenour, head athletic trainer for the Pistons, was tossed during the third quarter of the contest after contesting an eight-second backcourt violation.
